Delicious Death:
A hungry wasp dove into the bowl of honey. He swam around in the sun, surrounded by figs, grapes and Piave cheese. He was so focused on eating his delicious treat that he did not realize the gravity of his situation.
I just spent a wonderful afternoon with friends, Sr. Key Grip See Wee Chee, Liz Robertson and Tsa at the Saratoga Wine and Food Festival.
My Favorites:
Wine: Produttori del Barbaresco, Nebbiolo from Langhe, Piemonte 2010 – We visited this table 5 times. The wine had notes of floral, cherry, raspberries and earth with a hint of tar.
Food: Chicken Liver Pate with carmelized onion, capers and a balsamic vinegar reduction – We ate this piece at the One Caroline St. Bistro table.
Cheese: Piave Vecchio DOP – this aged cheese is milky, creamy and has little crystals that crunch in your teeth. It has lots of personality. You can find this beautiful cheese at iGourmet.com
